Bayside Obstetrics & Gynaecology provide a wide range of services to ensure healthy well-being
Antenatal classes which are facilitated by our midwives help couples understand the late stages of pregnancy and birth. Our education program also includes information on how to prepare for the first few weeks of parenthood.
Classes are available to all couples from 32 weeks of pregnancy onwards are held over two 3-hour sessions 1 week apart.
Session 1: Signs of labour, ruptured membranes, normal birthing, pain relief and brief overview of breastfeeding.
Session 2: Breastfeeding, postnatal period, what to bring to hospital, duration of stay, what to expect.

Physiotherapy in Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a time where your body goes through a lot of changes, in a very short period of time. It is normal to have some new aches and pains as your pregnancy progresses.
Established in 2005, Yummy Mummy Physio is a unique physiotherapy practice dedicated to enhancing the experience of pregnancy, motherhood and beyond. Experienced women's health physiotherapist, Paula Hindle, combines her Masters of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Human Movement Studies and practical Yummy Mummy experience with her two children Andrew and Cleo, to provide the best possible care to all women during this exciting phase of life.
Paula is also experienced in pelvic floor physiotherapy for women with prolapse and incontinence issues.
Sessions at Bayside are held Mondays and Thursdays.

Conflicting and mixed messaged from the media, family members and friends can often mean that pregnant woman are left feeling confused about what they should be eating during pregnancy. If you are unsure of concerned about your diet then consulting a qualified dietitian may help you to feel more at ease. A dietitian will be able to assess your personal circumstances and current diet and will use this information in combination with the latest research to formulate a diet plan which is going to keep you healthy and give your baby the best possible start in life. Dietitian input is also recommended if gestational diabetes is diagnosed during your pregnancy.
Here at Bayside we have two in-house dietitians from New Life Nutrition Julie Masci and Hannah Ryrie (pictured right). They will be available at Bayside to discuss any issues you may be experiencing.

Hypnobirthing is a simple yet effective self hypnosis that teaches specific relaxation and breathing techniques for a better birth. Hypnobirthing does not mean that you will be in a trance for a sleep, rather you will be able to chat an be in good spirits, totally relaxed but fully in control. You will always be aware of what is happening to you and around you.
At Bayside we have Gabriella Ambrose (pictured right) from Beautiful Births who will be able to explain the techniques used in Hypnobirthing. She will be available to speak to you about any issues or anxieties you may want to talk through.
