Receive the best possible care through your pregnancy journey
We are very happy for you and would love to share in this precious time with you. We aim to provide you and your partner with the very best of care during your pregnancy and the delivery of your new baby.
There are many different approaches to pregnancy and delivery, and at Bayside we believe in flexible safe models of care which meets your pregnancy and birth wishes with the aim of a happy and healthy mother and child, rather than fitting into a one-size fits all model.
Our philosophy is to provide choices in pregnancy and delivery to meet the expectations of our mothers, and consequently we have one of the lowest intervention rates you could find.
We are a unique team private practice in South East Queensland, allowing both access to obstetrician and midwifery care, meaning that you will receive the benefits of being looked after by a group with collective expertise. Furthermore, we will be personally available to you 24 hours a day with the guarantee that there will always be someone you know at your clinic visits and most importantly during your delivery.
On learning the exciting news of your pregnancy please come and visit us at our clinic opposite the Mater Private Redlands, where we have set up a state-of-the-art clinic, complete with ultrasounds to see your baby on every visit as well as access to monitoring equipment should you require it without having to go to hospital.
The Doctors will confidently guide you through every step of this pregnancy, being sure to explain why we may have concerns and what action can be taken to ensure the best outcome for you and your baby. All the staff work closely with a network of other specialist (such as endocrinologists, cardiologist, psychiatrists, etc.), all of whom we can personally recommend. When you need combined expertise for the highest quality care, it is immediately available.
The Doctors can also perform your delivery at the Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital in South Brisbane, should your baby be likely to need the care of its excellent neonatal unit, or any neonatal surgery. Only by this limitless care can your understandable concerns be met.
Not everyone has a chance to talk to an obstetrician prior to pregnancy, but if able, then once you have decided to try for a pregnancy, a visit to the doctors at Bayside can assist you in optimising your fertility and lifestyle to ensure the healthiest start to your pregnancy possible. There are many things we can check prior to a pregnancy, which can especially have an impact on the early stages, and offer advice and treatment to improve your outcomes.
In particular we would be keen to discuss any medical conditions that you or your partner may have, and how we can optimise your health, including checking any medications you are taking that may have an impact on your baby and pregnancy care.
Some women have factors in their medical, family or previous obstetric history that can increase their chances of having a complication during pregnancy. It is our aim to achieve a healthy mother and baby in every pregnancy, but sometimes we may need to tailor your obstetric care in order to reduce or manage complications that can occur.
We are a group of obstetricians who help their women as a team, and as such we are able to offer you a collective level of expertise, as well as the flexibility to continue to see our midwives on some of your visits in order to ensure continuity of care.
Furthermore we have access to other specialists who can assist in certain areas should you require them. We also have the ability to deliver your baby at Mater Mothers South Brisbane in order to access higher levels of maternity and neonatal care.
We are happy and experienced in the provision of maternity care to women with the following issues –
Classifying your pregnancy as low risk simply means that there is nothing in your medical or family history that increases your chance of complications in pregnancy. It also means that any of your previous pregnancies have been uncomplicated.
However, every pregnancy is different and unexpected events can happen. As such, you will have regular visits with both the obstetricians and the midwives, ensuring that your health and that of your baby continues as it should. During your visits we will have many opportunities to discuss your personal pregnancy and birthing wishes with the team, allowing you choices and the reassurances that we will endeavour to fulfil your expectations.
